Silver Hourglass Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The call for nominations for the Silver Hourglass Award is now open!<\/em><\/p>\n

Each year, the NBV presents the Silver Hourglass Award. The prize consists, in addition to eternal fame, of a statuette and a cash prize of \u20ac2,500. In 2023, the Silver Hourglass Innovation<\/em> Award will be presented to one or more entrepreneurs or researchers who have made an exceptional contribution to the application of biotechnological research.<\/p>\n

The aim of the innovation prize is:<\/p>\n

(1) to stimulate the application of scientific results in the development of biotechnological products or services<\/p>\n

(2) to encourage researchers and entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to biotechnology<\/p>\n

(3) to promote a positive image of biotechnology<\/p>\n

The deadline for nominations is 1 July 2023.<\/p>\n

Symposium pharmacogenomics: Translating your genome for personalized health<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The NBV genomics working group is organising a symposium on the theme of pharmacogenomics in healthcare. Keynote speakers include Andr\u00e9 Uitterlinden, Professor of Complex Genetics, Erasmus MC; Roos van Westrhenen, psychiatrist and clinical pharmacologist, Amsterdam UMC, and Marieke Coenen, Professor of Pharmacogenetics, Erasmus MC.<\/p>\n
