The successful launch of the mentoring programme, Woudschoten, the CSV meeting and of course: a brand-new KNCV website!

A strong start: launch of the Mentoring Programme

On 13 November, we officially launched the first nationwide Mentoring Programme with an energetic kick-off event, bringing together mentors and mentees from across the Netherlands. During this session, we used a ‘speed-matching’ format, in which each mentee had five minutes per mentor to meet them and explore potential matches. The atmosphere was excellent, and the conversations proved genuinely valuable. We are now in the process of finalising the mentor–mentee matches, after which the mentoring programme will officially get under way.

Are you an experienced professional in chemistry or life sciences? Or are you looking for guidance or a fresh perspective? Sign up as a mentor or mentee by sending an e-mail to our community manager: salex@kncv.nl.

First CSV meeting of the year!

The first CSV meeting of the year recently took place, bringing together Jong KNCV and board members from the student associations with whom we collaborate to provide students with an accessible and forward-looking platform. The meeting opened with a brief introduction, during which we got to know one another in a light-hearted way through a game of two truths and a lie. In an open setting, experiences were then exchanged, practical points of attention discussed, and ideas shared to further strengthen our collaboration. We rounded off the meeting with a joint lunch. We are looking forward with great enthusiasm to the next steps and to continued cooperation in the year ahead.

Chemische Feitelijkheden present at a sold-out Woudschoten

This year, too, the KNCV was present at a sold-out Woudschoten Chemistry Conference in Zeist. At the 35th edition, more than 350 chemistry teachers and laboratory technicians gathered for the annual meeting point within chemistry education, once again superbly organised by C3.

At the Education Market, we exhibited our Chemische Feitelijkheden series and distributed specially produced new classroom posters on topical themes — including the chemistry of fillers and nitrogen — to attendees. We also distributed the publication and gathered a wealth of inspiration for future editions. For more information, visit digitalechemie.nl.

Discover the redesigned KNCV website!

The KNCV website has been given a completely new look. The site is now bilingual (Dutch and English), better organised, more modern, and above all more practical to use. Thanks to the revamped login system, you can now easily manage your subscription and keep track of your event registrations. Take a look at kncv.nl and let us know what you think via kncv@kncv.nl!
