That is why Jong-KNCV organises an annual gathering at which we bring together the boards of relevant student associations, ranging from pharmaceutical sciences to bioinformatics and from chemical engineering to biotechnology. During this meeting, we discuss at length all the wishes and needs of the various associations and their members. How can we, as Jong-KNCV, ensure that we organise the right networking activities and that all students receive sufficient information about the latest innovations and the diverse career opportunities available? In this way, we contribute to a future full of scientific talent.
On Thursday 16 November, the boards of Jong-KNCV and fifteen student associations convened to discuss these questions and gather input. The meeting was combined with an inspiring company visit to Ardena in Oss, so as to shed light on the possibilities within the field. During our visit, we received a fascinating introduction to the company, a technical presentation on nanomedicines, and enjoyed a delightful lunch, whilst students had the opportunity to speak with researchers from Ardena. Not to be overlooked was the impressive tour through all the laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory instruments.
The students have surprised us with fresh ideas about what they want, and we hope to inspire them just as much, whilst also putting the KNCV on the map for the younger generation.
