Silver Hourglass Award

The call for nominations for the Silver Hourglass Award is now open!

Each year, the NBV presents the Silver Hourglass Award. The prize consists, in addition to eternal fame, of a statuette and a cash prize of €2,500. In 2023, the Silver Hourglass Innovation Award will be presented to one or more entrepreneurs or researchers who have made an exceptional contribution to the application of biotechnological research.

The aim of the innovation prize is:

(1) to stimulate the application of scientific results in the development of biotechnological products or services

(2) to encourage researchers and entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to biotechnology

(3) to promote a positive image of biotechnology

The deadline for nominations is 1 July 2023.

Symposium pharmacogenomics: Translating your genome for personalized health

The NBV genomics working group is organising a symposium on the theme of pharmacogenomics in healthcare. Keynote speakers include André Uitterlinden, Professor of Complex Genetics, Erasmus MC; Roos van Westrhenen, psychiatrist and clinical pharmacologist, Amsterdam UMC, and Marieke Coenen, Professor of Pharmacogenetics, Erasmus MC.
