The General Assembly of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS) took place on 12 and 13 October in Larnaca (Cyprus), under the chairmanship of EuChemS President Floris Rutjes.

During the meeting, a positive vote was cast on the membership application from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Furthermore, participants voted in favour of the request to establish a new EuChemS Division for Glycoscience, as well as a new EuChemS Working Group on Mechanochemistry. The meeting was attended by representatives of European chemical professional societies. The KNCV was represented by director Jan-Willem Toering and the KVCV by secretary Thomas Vranken. During the meeting, the preparations for the next EuChemS Chemistry Congress in Dublin in July 2024 were discussed at length.
